Frequently Asked
Questions

Clear answers to the questions we hear most often about the Unicwap platform, how non-custodial wallets work, and what compliance means in practice.

About the Wallet

A non-custodial wallet means the platform never holds, stores, or controls your private keys or funds. Your private keys are generated on your device and remain there. Unicwap software facilitates the interface — but the keys that authorize transactions exist only on your device. If you lose your seed phrase, Unicwap cannot recover your funds, because we never had access to them.

A seed phrase (also called a recovery phrase or mnemonic) is a sequence of 12 or 24 words generated when you create a wallet. It encodes your wallet's master private key. Anyone who has your seed phrase has complete control over all assets in your wallet. Store it offline, in a secure physical location. Do not share it with anyone — including Unicwap support.

Yes. If you have an existing wallet with a BIP-39 compatible seed phrase, you can import it into Unicwap. The import process asks for your seed phrase, derives your keys locally, and connects to the relevant blockchain networks to display your balances. The import happens entirely on your device.

If you have your seed phrase, you can restore your wallet on any new device by importing it into Unicwap or any other compatible wallet application. Your assets exist on the blockchain — not on your device. The device only stores the keys needed to access them. Without your seed phrase, there is no recovery option — for Unicwap or for any non-custodial wallet.

Supported Networks & Assets

Unicwap currently supports Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, BNB Chain, Polygon, Avalanche, Tron, and Arbitrum. Support for additional networks is evaluated on an ongoing basis. Each supported network is integrated natively — not through bridge wrappers or synthetic assets.

Yes. Stablecoins that exist as tokens on supported networks are fully compatible with Unicwap. USDT is available on Ethereum (ERC-20), Tron (TRC-20), BNB Chain (BEP-20), and other supported networks. USDC is available on Ethereum, Solana, Avalanche, and Polygon. The wallet detects these tokens automatically once your address holds a balance.

NFT display and transfer functionality is available for Ethereum and Polygon networks. You can view NFTs held in your wallet and initiate transfers to other addresses. Unicwap does not operate a marketplace or facilitate NFT purchases — it only provides wallet infrastructure for assets you already hold.

Compliance & Registration

The Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) is a bureau of the US Department of the Treasury. Money Services Businesses (MSBs) that transmit funds or provide certain financial services are required to register with FinCEN under the Bank Secrecy Act. AIX WALLET LLC is registered as an MSB with registration number 31000287499520. This registration is publicly verifiable on the FinCEN MSB Registrant Search tool.

Because Unicwap is operated by a FinCEN-registered MSB, it is subject to federal AML/KYC requirements regardless of the custodial model. The non-custodial architecture means we do not hold your funds — but the platform still facilitates transactions, which triggers compliance obligations. KYC is a one-time verification process that allows you to use the full range of platform features.

Identity verification data is collected and processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable US federal requirements, including those under the Bank Secrecy Act and applicable state laws. We use a regulated third-party identity verification provider. Data is retained for the legally required period and is not sold or shared with third parties outside of legal obligations.

Unicwap is a US-registered platform operated under US law. Access from outside the United States may be subject to local regulations in your jurisdiction. Users are responsible for determining whether use of the platform complies with the laws of their own country. Unicwap does not provide legal advice regarding international use.

Sending & Receiving

Select the asset you want to send, enter the recipient's wallet address, specify the amount, and review the estimated network fee. Once you confirm, the transaction is signed locally using your private key and broadcast to the relevant blockchain network. Unicwap does not approve or delay transactions — once signed and broadcast, the transaction is submitted to the network.

Network fees (also called gas fees on EVM chains) are paid to the validators or miners who process and confirm transactions on the blockchain. These fees are not collected by Unicwap. They are determined by current network conditions and go directly to network participants. Unicwap displays estimated fees before you confirm a transaction but does not set or collect them.

Confirmation time depends on the blockchain network and current network congestion. Bitcoin transactions typically confirm within 10-60 minutes. Ethereum and EVM-compatible chains usually confirm within seconds to a few minutes under normal conditions. Solana is typically near-instant. Setting a higher gas fee on EVM chains can speed up confirmation during congested periods.
